About the Tour:

The splitboarding tour is designed for advanced riders and includes a one-day high-mountain expedition, ending with epic powder descents in the company of a certified instructor.

 

What can I expect during the tour?

• Discussion of avalanche and weather reports

• Assessment of weather and avalanche conditions

• Proper planning of the tour route

• Refresher on avalanche rescue basics and the use of avalanche safety gear

• Ascent into the high mountain areas of the Tatras using crampons, ice axe, ski crampons, and sometimes a climbing harness and rope

 

Is this course for me?

The course is designed for anyone who:

• Rides a snowboard and has no trouble descending red and black slopes,

• Has experience in splitboarding and freeriding, feels comfortable with high exposure but lacks experience in navigation and planning high-mountain tours,

• Has the stamina for a 5–6 hour ascent with a backpack, covering at least 1000m of elevation gain,

• Has completed avalanche training,

• Owns the NECESSARY EQUIPMENT.

Where does the tour take place?

We start in Kościelisko, Kiry 11.
There, we pack the prepared equipment and discuss the tour plan.
Then, we head into the picturesque Tatra Mountains – depending on conditions, we may explore either the Polish or Slovak Tatras, so it's important to have travel insurance covering extreme sports.

 

When does the course take place?

The tour runs from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (or until your legs give out) on a pre-arranged date.
